Mini Football Cupcakes – too cute mini chocolate cupcakes piped with buttercream football perfection.
It seems the baking world, and the general population is tickled about pumpkin spice season. Meh. I am all about football food and Halloween treats. What can I say? I march to my own drum beat, and that beat is saying Mini Football Cupcakes.
Mini Football Cupcakes is an easy-peasy way to root for your favorite football team (Go Pack Go!) while shoveling delicious mini chocolate cupcakes into your face. Kids will love them. Football fans will love them. Cupcake lovers will LOVE them. You’ll love them. It’s win-win.
To bake these bite-size beauties you’ll need your favorite chocolate cupcake, chocolate buttercream, and vanilla buttercream recipes. You can also use vanilla buttercream colored brown, which is what I did. I prefer vanilla frosting and I am a bit lazy like that.
To pipe buttercream footballs onto your mini cupcakes you’ll need piping bags, a small star tip, and a small round tip. I used Ateco 12″ Disposable Pastry Bags, Wilton No. 20 Open Star Tip, and Wilton No. 5 Round Tip.
Tada! You’ve got Mini Football Cupcakes! Now you truly are ready for some football!!
- Using a pastry bag filled with brown/chocolate buttercream and fitted with a no. 20 open star tip, pipe back and forth onto your mini cupcake in a diamond "football" shape.
- Using a pastry bag filled with white buttercream and fitted with a no. 5 round tip, pipe laces onto the football.
