I am a firm believer that mini cupcakes are the BEST. You can’t eat just one, and if you can then you have superhuman mental strength that I covet.
I also adore Halloween. It’s my absolute favorite holiday and the MOST awesome time to bake. Yep, I am even putting it before Christmas. As soon as Labor Day is over, Halloween bakes are fair game in my hocus pocus book.
Mini Ghost Cupcakes are spooky cute, beyond easy, and a Halloween MUST cupcake. Plus they're mini cupcakes, so they are the black cat’s meow. Meow!
To make these Mini Ghost Cupcakes you’ll need your favorite cupcake recipe and vanilla buttercream.
For the ghost’s eyes and mouth, you have two choices. Your first choice is to color a bit of your vanilla buttercream, black with black food color, and using a pastry bag fitted with a no.3 decorating tip or with the tip cut off, you pipe three dots onto your ghosts. Alternatively, you can also use a sandwich bag with the tip cut off.
Your second option for the ghost's eyes and mouth is to use royal icing transfers. I tend to have black royal icing left when I am making Royal Icing Eyes, so I make a few royal icing black dots for other projects; this being one of them.
Two of my must-having royal icing transfers are Royal Icing Eyes and Royal Icing Pumpkins, you are definitely going to want to have some on hand for your Halloween desserts.
Royal Icing Eyes are perfect for so many Halloween treats - including these Mummy Pretzel Bites and these Halloween Mummy Oreo Cookies.
Get in the Halloween spirit with Mini Ghost Cupcakes. They’re hauntingly delicious and really cute too!
