Life Is Sweet May 2019 - a glimpse beyond the mixer into what we've been up to in May.

Remember in Life is Sweet April 2019 when I said May was going to be a doozy, well I was not wrong.
May was filled with celebrations, dancing, FUN, house meetings, drinks, and so much rain.
SO. MUCH. RAIN.
Seriously, it's been nonstop rain with a chance of doom and gloom most of May. I can't wait for some sunshine!! ☀️
Also, I never bother taking photos at any of these events so these photos were all taken by family. 😬
Celebrate Good Times
May was jam-packed with celebrations.
We kicked it off with a girl's day celebrating my sister’s engagement. We went downtown, had some drinks, danced so much my quads were killing me for days, and rode a mechanical bull. Actually, I should say I got thrown from a mechanical bull, there was very little riding on my part, and the next day I had bruises to show for it. It was a lot of fun!!
Then there was a brunch bridal shower for my cousin Cadie who is getting married in August.
We've got my cousin Cadie's wedding in August and my sister Emily's in September, and somewhere around this time, our house is supposed to be done; busy times!!
Followed by my nephew's second birthday, which also happened to fall on Mother's Day this year.
I made his birthday cake and birthday cupcakes last year, but this year I got a needed break.
Next was my sister's birthday which was a Sunday Funday celebration. Our local pub was having a meat raffle for Optimist Club, which was interesting. I mean, don't meat raffles spark your interest?
The month ended with Memorial Day celebrations, which included a day spent at Falls Memorial Fest.
It turned out to be a beautiful day spent with friends and family, drinking at the American Legion, henna tattoos, and dancing with my Ella Bean (my dear niece/goddaughter).
Our House
Our house this month had less progress than was planned. The rough carpenter fell behind and then everyone else did too.
We had so many meetings during the first half of the month that it was difficult to actually do our jobs. I was expecting building a new house to be a lot of work, but I didn't expect all the babysitting and arguments that have come along with it.
On the plus side, we have windows, and it's starting to look like the house we designed.
We also have a mud moat because of all the rain. 😬
We should see all the progress that was supposed to be done in May being done now in June. Sadly, we are another month behind.
Hopefully, we continue to progress with minimum headaches, so we can wrap up this build and move on with our lives.

How was your May? Did you get a ton of rain too? Anything you’d like me to share or get into next month?
