I am not very good at sharing myself. I always feel like when I share myself it’s used against me later.
I want to change that, the sharing part.
I decided to start the Life Is Sweet series because I think sharing myself with my readers could be therapeutic and maybe even fun.
I guess we’ll see how this goes.
So WELCOME to the very first, Life Is Sweet January 2019.
Our House

Joe and I have had a bitch of a time getting our house built. When we sold our condo two years ago we thought we would be living in our new house within a year. We are well into 2 years in a crap apartment with the WORST oven EVER.
Thankfully, our dream home is finally underway; the basement is in!!
I am super stoked to get ‘er done and also to start sharing the build and our home with you!
Engagement + Wedding
No, not me. Joe and I’ve been married for going on 13 years.
My sister got engaged on New Year's Eve and is busy planning her wedding for the fall of THIS YEAR! 😬
I will be busy planning parties, celebrating her and her fiancé, and otherwise helping her in any way I can.
There will absolutely be all sorts of wedding-baked goodies that I’ll be baking and sharing along the way.
Oh, and those beautiful flowers which are defying Mother Nature because they are still alive in my living room after four weeks, are a gift from my sis when she asked me to be her Matron-of-Honor!
Wisconsin Dells
Joe and I visited WI Dells for a day trip to celebrate his birthday.
We participated in our fifth escape room, but our first with just the two of us. We needed one more minute to escape. We just needed to open a trunk, remove the key, and let ourselves out. It was fun and a bummer. We were SO close!
On the plus side, I got to indulge in AMAZING fried pickles. I LOVE fried pickles!! They are my obsession! Plus Monks Bar & Grill in WI Dells has the BEST fried pickle spears!! #friedpicklesobsessed #willtravelforfriedpickles
Lila’s Birthday
We celebrated my niece’s 5th birthday this month. She had a birthday party with some of her friends and family.
I, of course, made mini cupcakes. It’s a proven fact that people are more inclined to eat cupcakes and more of them when they are mini.
My little ginger niece asked for cupcakes, purple and blue like her room. I hope I did her proud with the purple and blue version of these Daisy Mini Cupcakes!
Unfortunately, I suck because I didn't get a picture of the mini cupcakes. 😒

That about rounds out our January, other than freezing our butts off with the polar vortex that has swept in this week.
I seriously HATE the cold and LOATHE snow, so it’s been a rough week for my mental health. A little baking, knitting, and binge-watching The 4400 has helped.
Thanks for stopping by and reading. I look forward to sharing again with you in this new series.
Now, if only I had a donut right now!! 🍩
