I can’t believe Christmas is already here. It just doesn’t feel like it. Maybe it’s because we didn’t put up a Christmas tree or that we don’t have any gifts to exchange this year. We didn’t get very many Christmas cards either, so maybe I am not the only one in this boat?
I don’t particularly care for this non-festive mood. It’s making me feel a little bit Grinch.
The positive to this bah-humbug feeling, Grinch Pretzel Bites.
Grinch Pretzel Bites are pretzel snaps, green melting wafers, and red heart quins. They’re beyond easy to make, the kids will love them, and the kids at heart will too! That would be me; I have a soft spot for Grinch-y Christmas treats.
Have you tried my Grinch Cupcakes or Grinch Rice Krispies Treats? They would make The Grinch proud! 😉
If an easy sweet and salty treat isn’t enough to make you joyful and triumphant, then the fact that these pretzel bites are too cute AND too delicious should do the trick!
Grinch Pretzel Bites, they’ll make your heart grow three sizes! ❤

Hello I tried making these. I did everything according to instructions. I had one problem however, my melts did not stick to pretzel. I tried pressing my thumb down on it, but candy melt cracked. It was all dry looking. What did I do wrong?
Sarah says
Hi Deanna, I am sorry to hear that. If the candy melt cracked, it sounds like it wasn't melted enough. The candy melt should melt just like chocolate; if you pressed your thumb down on it, you should have had melted candy melt all over your thumb. If you've had it in the oven for 3 minutes and it's not melted, try a bit longer.
Also, if the candy melt looked dry maybe it was old; sometimes when candy melts are old they don't melt.
I hope that helps. Happy Holidays and Happy Baking! 🙂

I bought all my ingredients and am ready to go. Two things though…first, just looked at my green melts and they are actually vanilla flavor…how much will that alter the taste? And second, I need this for an office party Thursday (today is Saturday) can I make them tomorrow Sunday (4 days in advance) and they still taste fresh for Thursday?
Sarah says
Hi Claudia! No, it will not alter the taste; most colored melts are vanilla flavor so this is normal. As long as you keep your pretzel bites in an airtight container they will stay fresh for a minimum of 2 weeks. Thanks for making! Enjoy and Happy Baking! 🙂

These are adorable!
Can they be frozen?
Sarah says
Hi Janet! I have not froze these so I can't attest to how it will go. I wouldn't recommend it though. From a flavor standpoint they would be fine, but the chocolate may get sugar bloom and also may separate from the pretzels. If you try it though, please let me know how it goes. Thank You & Happy Baking!!

Where would I buy green wafers and red hearts? I’m in Memphis Tn
Sarah says
Hi Mary! If you have a local candy/cake supply store they should carry them. Also, a Hobby Lobby or Michaels might have them. You can also buy them online - just below the recipe, it says "Shop This Recipe" with links to purchasing the wafers and hearts on Amazon. Thanks!!
