Ingredients for Green Bay Packers Crinkle Cookies
Green Bay Packers Crinkle Cookies are an easy cake mix cookie with mouthwatering vanilla flavor, a tantalizing powdered sugar coating, and unmistakable Packers charm.
To make these delicious crinkle cookies, all you'll need is a handful of simple ingredients: vanilla or white cake mix, butter, eggs, vanilla extract, granulated sugar, powdered sugar, and food coloring.
First up, you'll need vanilla or white cake mix because these bad boys are cake mix cookies.
Next on the list is unsalted butter. This ingredient will provide richness and moisture to your cookies. Be sure to use unsalted butter to have better control over the saltiness of your cookies.
Now let's talk about the star of the show—vanilla extract. This sweet and aromatic ingredient will infuse your cookies with a heavenly flavor that pairs perfectly with the powdered sugar coating.
And let's not forget the most crucial component—the green and gold food coloring. This is what will give your cookies that unmistakable Green Bay Packers charm. I strongly suggest AmeriColor Soft Gel Paste for all your food coloring needs. You get gorgeous colors without using a lot of food color. I used AmeriColor leaf green and gold.
To achieve the signature crinkle effect, you'll need powdered sugar. This delicate, snowy sugar coating will create beautiful cracks on the surface of your cookies as they bake. First, you'll roll your dough in granulated sugar to keep the powdered sugar from being absorbed into your cookies, then you'll roll your dough generously in powdered sugar before baking, and watch as those crinkles form like magic.
Tips for Perfecting Your Green Bay Packers Crinkle Cookies
Now that you have gathered all the necessary ingredients and preheated your oven, it's time to take your cake mix cookie-making skills to the next level with a few tips to ensure perfection.
First, make sure to properly measure your ingredients. Baking is a science, and slight variations in measurements can greatly affect the outcome of your cookies. Use measuring cups and spoons specifically designed for dry ingredients, and level them off with a straight edge for accuracy. Using a food scale is also an excellent option.
When it comes to rolling the dough into balls, try to be consistent in size. Using a cookie scoop or a tablespoon measure will help you achieve uniform cookies that bake evenly. Additionally, avoid overhandling the dough as the warmth from your hands can melt the butter and make the cookies spread too much.
As you arrange the dough balls on the baking sheet, be sure to leave ample space between them. This will prevent the cookies from spreading into each other and ensure they have room to expand properly. A crowded baking sheet can lead to cookies that are misshapen and unevenly baked.
While the recipe will provide a suggested bake time, it's essential to keep an eye on the cookies towards the end of the baking process. The goal is to have the edges set and slightly crisp while the centers remain soft. Remember, each oven is different, so adjust the baking time accordingly to achieve your desired texture.
Green Bay Packers Crinkle Cookies offer a winning combination of deliciousness and team spirit. With their delicious vanilla flavor, distinctive Packers design, and enticing powdered sugar coating, these cookies are a guaranteed hit among both football enthusiasts and dessert lovers.
